With Easter just around the corner, it’s time to dive into the delicious world of chocolate delights! According to our latest Focus On poll, Aussies are gearing up for an egg-citing (sorry about the pun) Easter celebration.

The search for Chocolate Treasures

First things first, let’s talk about the beloved Easter egg hunt. The tradition is alive and well, with a whopping 60% of respondents ready to take part in a hunt for those elusive chocolate eggs. And 75% of families with children under the age of 12 will be searching high and low for delicious treats.

Easter Eggs & Bunnies

Speaking of treats, Easter eggs and bunnies reign supreme with over 75% of respondents preferring them over chocolate blocks, bars, and assortment boxes. Who can blame them? There’s something undeniably festive about biting into a cute chocolate bunny or cracking open a big Easter egg.

Chocolate Indulgence

Whether it’s nibbling on a handful of mini eggs or savouring the richness of a larger chocolate treat, there’s no denying that we are ready to dive into a chocolate-filled eggstravaganza with over 40% of respondents gearing up to indulge in a mix of small and larger eggs. With an array of egg sizes to choose from, it seems Easter is the perfect time to treat yourself to a little extra chocolate indulgence.

Sweet Treats

It’s no surprise that Aussies have a soft spot for the classic milk chocolate, with over 60% of respondents declaring it as their top choice. Dark chocolate comes in second, followed by the creamy goodness of white chocolate.

Purple Eggs and Golden Bunnies

Off the back of our penchant for milk chocolate, Cadbury is the undisputed Easter champion with over 60% of respondents planning to indulge in their delicious creations. When drilling down to families with kids under the age of 12 Cadbury dominance is even greater with 80% intending to purchase the purple brand this Easter. Lindt and Ferrero Rocher are also popular choices, with 40% and 30% of respondents respectively opting for these iconic brands. So, it looks like many of us will be mixing and matching our favourite chocolates to create the ultimate Easter chocolate feast. Cadbury Easter eggs paired with Lindt bunny rabbits, anyone?

Aussies Hunt for Chocolate Everywhere

And where do we go to get our Easter chocolate fix? While supermarkets remain the go-to choice for 97% of shoppers, there’s a segment of chocolate lovers shopping in multiple locations in search of unique and indulgent treats exploring specialty chocolate stores (21%) and department stores (20%).

Chocolate Cash Splash

When it comes to splurging on Easter goodies, people are expecting to spend $40 on average and over 20% of respondents are planning to spend between $50 and $75. That’s a whole lot of chocolate eggs and bunnies waiting to be broken and devoured!
